FIFA has officially unveiled three mascots for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, the first edition of the tournament to be co-hosted by three nations - Canada, Mexico, and the United States.
The trio - Maple the Moose, Zayu the Jaguar, and Clutch the Bald Eagle - will represent their respective countries while symbolising unity, diversity, and passion for the game.
Each mascot reflects the cultural identity and heritage of its homeland. Maple the Moose, representing Canada, is a music-loving, street-style artist and a commanding goalkeeper. Embodying resilience, flair, and leadership, Maple captures the spirit of Canadian inclusiveness and creativity.
Zayu the Jaguar, symbolising Mexico, is inspired by the jungles of the country’s south. Agile and inventive as a striker, Zayu represents Mexican dance, cuisine, and festive traditions, acting as a cultural bridge that connects fans across borders.
Clutch the Bald Eagle represents the adventurous spirit of the United States. Energetic, fearless, and uplifting, Clutch thrives as a midfield leader, inspiring teamwork and optimism while showcasing the nation’s cultural diversity.
For the first time, FIFA competition mascots will extend into digital platforms. Maple, Zayu, and Clutch will feature as playable characters in FIFA Heroes, a new video game launching in 2026.
They will also appear in Roblox’s FIFA Super League Soccer and on merchandise available at FIFAStore.com.
FIFA President Gianni Infantino described the launch as a milestone for the global game:
“Maple, Zayu and Clutch are full of joy, energy and the spirit of togetherness, just like the FIFA World Cup itself. They’ll win hearts and spark celebrations across North America and around the world.”
The 2026 FIFA World Cup will run from 11 June to 19 July, expanding to 48 teams for the first time in history.
With Maple, Zayu, and Clutch leading fan engagement, the tournament promises to be as vibrant and inclusive as ever.
