Hearts of Oak have officially confirmed the departure of midfielder Seth Osei after both parties agreed to a mutual contract termination, just eight months after his arrival.
The 27-year-old joined the Phobians in January 2025 on a two-year deal following his return from South African Premier League side TS Galaxy.
However, his stay at the club has been cut short after struggling to establish himself in the team under new head coach Mas-Ud Didi Dramani.
A club statement released on Wednesday expressed gratitude to the player for his service.
“Accra Hearts of Oak has mutually parted ways with midfielder Seth Osei. We thank him for his commitment and wish him the very best in his future endeavors,” the statement read.
Since Dramani’s arrival, Osei fell down the pecking order, failing to feature in the GHALCA Top Four tournament and yet to make an appearance in the ongoing 2025/26 Ghana Premier League season.
His last competitive outing for the Phobians came towards the end of last season, where he managed just eight league appearances in total.
The former AshantiGold playmaker is now a free agent and eligible to sign for any club of his choice as he seeks the next chapter in his career.
Osei’s exit reduces competition in midfield but also allows the club to free up space for reinforcements in the ongoing season
