Elsewhere, Greater Accra edged defending champions Western Region 7â6 on penalties after a gripping goalless draw, while Upper East held their nerve to beat Volta Region 7â6 in a shootout following a 1â1 draw.
At the FIFA Pitch, Brong Ahafo found their stride with a narrow 1â0 victory over Greater Accra Elite B. Upper East continued their fine form, defeating Eastern Region 3â2 on penalties after a tense regulation period, before Ashanti Region capped the day with a confident 3â1 win over Central Region.
Now in its fifth year, the KGL U-17 Inter-Regional Championship has firmly established itself as Ghana’s premier youth football showcase. Featuring an expanded 12-team lineup drawn from all ten Regional Football Associations alongside the GFA Elite Academies, the 2025 edition is already producing the high-quality football and emerging stars that have become the tournament’s hallmark.
Many past participants have gone on to represent Ghana’s junior national teams and excel in the domestic leagues, underlining the competition’s growing significance.
