Hearts of Oak goalkeepers’ coach Issah Najahu has declared the Phobians fully prepared for the new Ghana Premier League season, crediting their rigorous pre-season preparationsâincluding the GHALCA Top 4 tournamentâfor sharpening the squad ahead of their opener against Hohoe United.
Speaking after the team’s Democracy Cup victory over Great Olympics, Najahu emphasized the importance of facing strong opposition to build competitive readiness.
“Top Four is a high-profile game, and before the league kicks off, you need to play at least high-profile games. We have done that,” he stated.
Najahu, who joined the club in the off-season as part of Didi Dramani’s backroom staff, also praised the test provided by Great Olympics, noting that they performed at a top-flight level despite being a Division One side.
With two pre-season trophies already securedâthe Homowo Cup and the Democracy CupâHearts of Oak will enter the 2025/26 campaign with confidence as they aim to improve on last season’s top-four finish. The Phobians begin their league campaign at home on Friday evening at the Accra Sports Stadium.
