Former Asante Kotoko striker Sadick Adams has urged Hearts of Oak to act swiftly to secure the future of captain Benjamin Asare, insisting the goalkeeper deserves a $10,000 monthly salary.
Asare, 33, is entering his second season with the Phobians after joining from Great Olympics two seasons ago.
He has risen to become Ghana’s first-choice goalkeeper since making his Black Stars debut in March 2025 and was in goal for the recent World Cup qualifiers against Chad and Mali.
Adams, writing on Facebook, praised Asare’s journey and called on Hearts to reward his performances. “Only you can write and tell your story about how you’ve worked to be where you are today,” he wrote.
“I don’t know how many years are left in your contract with Accra Hearts of Oak and how much you are earning, but Accra Hearts of Oak need to renew your whole contract by making you the highest-paid player both in the club and in the Ghana Premier League with a minimum wage of $10,000 monthly salary.
“Start marketing him now so he can be sold for your profit. Don’t wait for his contract to be left with six months or one year for him to go free. This is his time and this is football.”
Reports indicate a Saudi Arabian club has expressed interest in signing Asare before their transfer window closes, but Hearts have already turned down the approach.
