
Nerasol Ghana Limited, a subsidiary of the Jospong Group of Companies, has unveiled a landmark partnership with Check Point, a leading global cybersecurity solutions provider, to safeguard Ghana’s digital landscape and strengthen institutional resilience against cyber threats.
The unveiling ceremony, held at the AH Hotel and Conference in Accra, was themed “Ghana’s Cybersecurity Readiness in this Digital Era” and brought together industry leaders, policymakers, technology experts, and corporate executives.
The Commercial Director, Jospong ICT Group, Mr. Alex Nyanteh, welcomed distinguished guests and industry colleagues to the Nerasol Cyber Security Solution Showcase and launch of the services in Ghana, highlighting the importance of collaboration in building a resilient digital economy.

The partnership was officially announced by Elder Emmanuel Boate, Board Chairman of the ICT Cluster of the Jospong Group of Companies, on behalf of the Executive Chairman. Dr Joseph Siaw Agyepong. He was supported by Dr. Kwaku Ofosu Adarkwa and Dr. Tony Bediako, alongside representatives from Check Point.
Elder Boate expressed gratitude for the partnership, describing it as a timely move to secure Ghana’s rapidly digitizing economy.
He highlighted that Check Point’s vision of securing the hyper-connected world in the era of Artificial Intelligence (AI) aligns with Ghana’s urgent need to protect institutions, corporations, and individuals from escalating cyber-attacks.
Through the partnership, Nerasol and Check Point will deliver a unified cybersecurity platform designed to protect on-premises, cloud, and workspace operations while streamlining security management. Key benefits include a single dashboard for simplified management, Consolidation of security tools to reduce complexity and Lower costs through reduced infrastructure needs.
Delivering the keynote address, Mr. C.K. Bruce, CEO of Innovare and Cybersecurity Consultant, emphasized the growing urgency of cybersecurity. He revealed that in 2024 alone, Ghana recorded 4,753 denial-of-service (DoS) attacks, underscoring the reality of the threat.
“Cyber incidents are not just IT problems; they have financial, reputational, and operational implications,” he noted, stressing that business executives must treat cybersecurity as a board-level concern.
He identified phishing, insider fraud, and ransomware as top risks, warning that Ghana’s growing reliance on digital platforms, particularly in the financial sector, has made it a prime target for cybercriminals.
Mr. Bruce further highlighted Ghana’s progress in the sector, referencing the Data Protection Act of 2012, the Cybersecurity Act of 2020, and recent regulatory directives from the National Insurance Commission (NIC) as signs of growing momentum.
While technology is critical, Mr. Bruce stressed that “human error and social engineering tactics remain the biggest loopholes exploited by cybercriminals.”
He called for continuous public awareness campaigns, especially on mobile money scams, and urged the media to play a bigger role in amplifying cybersecurity education.
Victor Ugwu, Security Engineer for Check Point West Africa, emphasized the importance of joint efforts between government and industry.
He recommended security awareness training, incident preparedness, tabletop exercises, and disaster recovery strategies as key interventions.
“Every hand has to be on deck to tackle the rising wave of cyber-attacks,” he said, calling for proactive enforcement of cybersecurity regulations, especially within critical sectors like healthcare and energy.
Nerasol Ghana limited’s Managing Director, Mr. Wisdom Elvis Ativoe, also underscored the urgency of preparedness;“Cyber threats require high expertise, making partnerships with global leaders like Check Point crucial. While Ghana has commendable competence, collaboration – both local and international – is key to building resilience.”
He added that Nerasol’s role will include creating awareness at the policy, governance, and user levels, while also deploying practical solutions to secure institutions and businesses.
Cybersecurity consultant Richard Kwame Asomani added a long-term perspective, urging government and private sector investment in cybersecurity education.
He proposed coding and cybersecurity lessons from early education stages through his “Code Factory” initiative, alongside practical labs, scholarships, and training partnerships to build a skilled workforce.
