Basake Holy Stars have announced the appointment of experienced trainer Augustine Evans Adotey as their new head coach ahead of the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League season.
The veteran tactician has signed a three-year contract with the Ayinase-based club, who are preparing for their maiden campaign in the Ghanaian top flight.
Adotey’s arrival comes after months of searching for a substantive coach following the departure of Abdulai Gazale, who left in June to take up the assistant coach role at giants Hearts of Oak.
Adotey brings a wealth of experience to Holy Stars, having guided Medeama SC to their first-ever CAF Confederation Cup group stage appearance in 2016.
The 60-year-old also served as technical director at Medeama and worked as an assistant coach with the Black Queens, Ghana’s senior women’s national team.
His appointment is seen as a major boost for Holy Stars, who are restructuring their technical team to ensure they remain competitive in the elite division.
The club, who earned historic promotion last season, will rely on Adotey’s tactical know-how and leadership to consolidate their status in the top flight.
Holy Stars open their Premier League campaign this weekend, and fans will be eager to see how quickly Adotey can make his mark.
