Black Princesses head coach Charles Sampson says his side is steadily preparing for their upcoming FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup qualifier against Tunisia later this month.
The Princesses are currently in camp at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence, with training sessions geared towards sharpening both fitness and tactical awareness. Sampson admitted that a few players are yet to join camp but stressed that those present are showing commitment.
“We’ve been in camp for some time, but we’re still missing about five players. Despite that, the group in camp has been working hard, and step by step, things are looking good,” he said.
To test the team’s physicality and speed, the Princesses played a practice match against a boys’ side, which Sampson said gave them the right intensity ahead of the Tunisia tie.
He added that the technical team has been studying Tunisia closely and preparing for different scenarios. “We want to take the Princesses to the World Cup, but we’re focused on Tunisia first. Ghanaians can expect offensive, aggressive football where we dictate the pace,” he noted.
The Black Princesses will face Tunisia in Tunis on September 20 before hosting the return leg in Accra on September 28.
