
Real Oviedo midfielder Kwasi Sibo has expressed gratitude to Ghanaians for the unwavering support following an impressive debut appearances for the Black Stars.
The 27-year-old bulky midfielder earned a late call up to join the Black Stars and walked straight into the starting line up as Ghana narrowly triumphed over Mali to secure maximum points at the Accra Sports Stadium on Monday night.
Spartak Moscow new recruit, Alexander Djiku emerged as the hero for the Black Stars after netting the only goal of the match to snatch victory for the host.
Speaking after the game, the former Cheetah FC midfielder expressed gratitude to the fans, while promising a strong return to the national team.
“I thank Ghanaians for the massive support on my debut. I do appreciate. It time to go and do club work. I will be back soon” he said.
Ghana sit top of Group I with 19 points after eight matches into the qualification series, and just one victory away from sealing a place at the global showpiece.
Otto Addo’s men return to action in October against the Central African Republic, where a win will mathematically guarantee qualification.
