Ghana coach Otto Addo insists he is satisfied with the performance of forward Antoine Semenyo despite failing to score in the games against Chad and Mali.
Semenyo, who has been all guns-blazing in the Premier League for AFC Bournemouth, was presented with two glorious opportunities during the two matches in the September window.
However, the 25-year-old missed both as Ghana collected four points to push their wait for qualification to October.
Despite being profligate in the qualifiers, Addo described Semenyo's performance especially against Mali as excellent.
"It is difficult to compare games in the Premier League and games in Africa, and in Ghana. It is very very difficult and all games have their on nature. Surely, you can say he stands more out in the Premier League but for me today he was excellent," he said.
"He fought until he could not run anymore. Maybe. he though he could stay a little longer but he was fighting. He was the lone fighter upfront and for me I am very glad with his performance.
"He put them under pressure, he made a lot of runs, he could run so others could shine. I am very very happy with his performance and his runs especially."
Semenyo has scored a goal in seven games in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
Ghana will next travel to play the Central African Republic before ending the qualifiers with a game against Comoros in Accra.
