
Ghana winger Joseph Paintsil has expressed gratitude to Ghanaians for their unflinching support for the Black Stars in the 2026 World Cup qualifying game against Mali.
Painstil, who plies his trade for LA Galaxy made substitute appearance as the Black Stars cruised to a narrow win over the Eagles at the Accra Sports Stadium on Monday night to revive their World Cup qualification hopes.
The pacey winger replaced Tottenham Hotspur star Mohammed Kudus in the last ten minutes of the thrilling clash as the West African football heavyweight secured a crucial victory on home turf.
However, the enterprising Ghanaian winger has taken to social media to express gratitude to Ghanaian for their unwavering support throughout the game.
“Thank you all for cheering us on last night. God bless you” he wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Ghana sit top of Group I with 19 points after eight matches into the qualification series, and just one victory away from sealing a place at the global showpiece.
Otto Addo’s men return to action in October against the Central African Republic, where a win will mathematically guarantee qualification.
