
Ghana’s Minister for Sports and Recreation, Kofi Adams, has commended the Black Stars for fighting to secure a 1-0 victory against the Eagles of Mali in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers on Monday night.
In a post on X after that game, the Minister expressed appreciation to the team, arguing that the win has renewed the belief of Ghanaians in the possibility of qualifying for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
“Thank you, Black Stars. You poured your hearts out on the pitch. With grit, discipline and determination, you gave Ghana something to believe in again. We’re proud of you. The journey continues,” Kofi Adams said in his post.

Following the victory against Mali on Monday, Ghana now sits top of the Group I standings with 19 points, three ahead of Madagascar in second place, and four more than Comoros in third.
The Black Stars will now look to secure the World Cup ticket in the October international break when they face Central African Republic and Comoros in the last two matches of the qualification campaign.
