AD Ceuta FC secured a thrilling 2-1 win over SD Huesca on Sunday, with Ghanaian forward Samuel Obeng stealing the headlines on his debut.
The Estadio Municipal Alfonso Murube was buzzing as Ceuta struck early through Kialy Abdoul Kone in the 11th minute. The hosts looked comfortable, especially after Huesca’s Sergi Enrich was shown a straight red card early in the second half.
Yet football rarely runs smoothly. Against the run of play, Enol RodrÃguez leveled for Huesca in the 85th minute, silencing the home crowd. Just when it seemed the visitors might escape with a point, Ceuta manager Rafael Sánchez López turned to Obeng.
Introduced in the 80th minute for Kuki Zalazar, Obeng seized his moment. In the 88th minute, he latched onto Cristian RodrÃguez’s clever through ball and calmly slotted home, sending the 5,043 fans into raptures.
It was the perfect introduction for the Ghanaian striker, who instantly endeared himself to the Ceuta faithful. The win lifts Ceuta’s confidence ahead of their next La Liga 2 clash against Castellon on September 14.
