Slovan Bratislava fans left Štadión Tehelné pole smiling after their side fought off a spirited FC Kosice in a 3-2 win in the Slovakian 1. liga.
The spotlight belonged to Ghanaian winger Kelvin Ofori, who played with confidence and flair during his 61 minutes on the pitch. His energy stretched Kosice’s defense, and in the 20th minute, he set up Mykola Kukharevych for Bratislava’s second goal, a neat left-footed finish that doubled their lead.
Kukharevych had already opened the scoring with a close-range header, and the home crowd sensed a comfortable evening. But football rarely follows the script. Kosice struck back after the break through Roman Cerepkai and Mátyás Kovács, pulling the game level at 2-2 and silencing the stands.
With nerves rising, Kukharevych stepped up again, completing his hat-trick in the 66th minute to restore Bratislava’s lead. The home side held firm until the final whistle, recording their sixth straight victory over Kosice.
Bratislava will now turn focus to their clash with Zilina on September 13.
