FC Nordsjælland came from behind to beat OB 2-1 in an entertaining Superliga clash at Nature Energy Park on Sunday afternoon, with Ghanaian midfielder Caleb Yirenkyi stealing the spotlight.
The hosts struck first through Jann-Fiete Arp, whose free kick in the 27th minute gave OB the edge at halftime. With a strong head-to-head record against Nordsjælland, OB looked confident in front of home fans in Odense.
But Yirenkyi, starting and playing the full 90 minutes, delivered a moment of brilliance just after the restart. In the 49th minute, he found space on the right side of the box and coolly struck into the bottom corner, sparking wild celebrations from the away fans. Though he lost 10 duels, the most in the game, his goal proved the turning point.
Nordsjælland completed the comeback in the 60th minute when Ola Solbakken curled in a free kick to seal the win. With 61% possession, they controlled much of the second half and earned their 15th win against OB in league history.
Nordsjælland now shift focus to FC Midtjylland after the international break.
