Ghana international midfielder Ibrahim Sulemana has sealed a move to Serie A side Bologna FC 1909 from Atalanta BC, GHANAsoccernet.com can confirm.
The 21-year-old joins the Rossoblu on loan until June 30, 2026, with the club holding an option to make the deal permanent.
Sulemana becomes the fifth Ghanaian in Bologna’s history, following in the footsteps of Stephen Appiah, Kwadwo Asamoah, Godfred Donsah, and Afriyie Acquah.
Born in 2003, Sulemana has been on the radar of the Ghana national team for over a year and is widely admired for his combative style of play.
The right-footed midfielder is versatile enough to operate as a deep-lying shield in front of the defence or as a box-to-box engine in central midfield.
His ball-winning ability, strength, and long-range shooting make him a dynamic presence in the middle of the park.
Sulemana began his Italian career with Verona’s Primavera side in the 2021/22 season before earning first-team opportunities in Serie A.
He later moved to Cagliari under Claudio Ranieri in 2023. At Atalanta, he made 10 league appearances last season, scoring twice in crucial games against Roma and Genoa.
Now set for a fresh chapter with Bologna, Sulemana will look to cement his place under Thiago Motta and continue his steady rise in Italian football.
