Italian Serie A side Fiorentina have confirmed the signing of Tariq Lamptey.
The Ghana international joined the La Viola from Premier League side Brighton & Hove Albion in a deal worth £6m, including add-ons.
Lamptey is expected to be a backup option for Brazilian defender Dodo. He has been handed jersey number 48.
His campaign last season was hampered by recurring injuries, limiting him to just 15 appearances for Brighton.
Despite the setbacks, he managed to contribute two goals and several assists.
In Brighton’s first three games of the season against Fulham, Everton and Oxford United, Lamptey was not included in any of the matchday squads.
Since joining Brighton from Chelsea, the former right-back has accumulated 104 appearances, scoring three goals and establishing himself as a versatile option on the flank.
Meanwhile, Tariq Lamptey is expected to fly to join Black Stars teammates for the Matchday 7 and 8 games of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Chad and Mali this month.
