Premier League side Sunderland are set to complete the acquisition of Dutch international of Ghanaian descent Brian Brobbey in the current transfer window.
Brobbey is joining the Black Cats from Ajax Amsterdam on transfer deadline day as a replacement for Marc Guiu, who has rejoined parent club Chelsea after his loan spell.
The enterprising attacker is expected to undergo his mandatory medical before putting pen to paper for Sunderland in a deal worth â¬20m initial fixed fee, with additional â¬5m add-ons.
Despite interest from other clubs including French outfit Stade Rennes, Brobbey has opted to join the Premier League newcomers and is expected to play a significant role for the club.

Brobbey has been in the books of the Dutch giants since childhood, but had a brief spell in the German Bundesliga with RB Leipzig.
The forward, who opted to represent the Netherlands at the international stage has already made eight appearances, scoring one goal since his debut in 2023.
