Martin Boakye had only a few minutes to make an impression, but that was all he needed.
The Italian-Ghanaian striker came off the bench in the 90th minute for an injured Baris Alici and quickly wrote his name into Boluspor’s history with his first goal for the club.
In a lively clash at the Yeni Sakarya Atatürk Stadium, Boluspor proved too strong for Sakaryaspor, running out 4-1 winners in Round 4 of the Turkish 1. Lig. Florent Hasani was the star of the show, striking twice in the first half and later adding a third to complete his hat-trick. Burak Ãoban briefly gave Sakaryaspor hope with a well-taken goal, but the visitors’ attacking power proved decisive.
As the game wound down, Boakye seized his moment. In stoppage time, he latched onto a pass from Mustafa Ãayli and finished with confidence, generating cheers from the traveling Boluspor fans. It was a goal that capped off a dominant display and gave Boakye the perfect start to his journey in Bolu colors.
Boluspor now shift focus to their next test against Manisa FK on September 14.
