Ghana international Jordan Ayew has welcomed criticism from Leicester City fans following the team’s defeat to Preston North End FC in the English Championship during Week 2.
Ayew, 33, started for the Foxes in the game on Saturday and lasted the entire duration of the contest.
In the away fixture played at Deepdale, Leicester City suffered a 2-1 defeat, leaving the disappointed fans to criticise the team’s performance and demand more from the players.
Speaking on the criticism, Jordan Ayew has noted that the players must welcome all of it and prepare well for the next game.
“After a defeat, nobody likes to lose, so there’s always going to be a bit of criticism. It’s all part of the game, and we’ll take it. Our main goal is still the same. We need to make sure we’ll be ready for the next games,” Jordan Ayew said in a post-match interview.
He continued, “There’s a game coming next week against Charlton, and we need to make sure that we start picking up points for us to have a good feeling and confidence to bring the smile onto everyone’s faces.”
The match against Charlton will be played on Saturday, August 23. Jordan Ayew will be hoping to get on the scoresheet to open his Leicester City account for the new season.
