Bibiani Gold Stars head coach Frimpong Manso says he is pleased with the way his side performed in their opening GHALCA Top 4 match against Asante Kotoko.
Gold Stars stunned the FA Cup champions with a 2-1 victory at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium on Wednesday night, showing spirit and resilience throughout the contest.
Kotoko struck first when Albert Amoah fired them ahead, but Samuel Attah Kumi calmly converted a penalty to bring the game level before halftime. After the break, fortune favored the Gold Stars when a misdirected back pass from Henry Ansu ended in his own net, sealing the win for Manso’s side.
"It was a very good game it was a game that we were looking at how our team will fair and for me I think they have done so well," he told Bibiani Gold Stars Communications after the game.
"The boys have done well to live up to this occasion, although there are some mistakes we need to correct generally I think it is a good performance,"
