Ghana coach Otto Addo travelled to France at the weekend to monitor Ghanaian players playing their trade in the Ligue 1, particularly Kojo Peprah Oppong.
The former Dortmund Talent Development coach attended the French Ligue 1 opener between OGC Nice and Toulouse, held at the Allianz Riviera on Saturday.
The high-stake clash featured two Ghanaian duo Kojo Peprah Oppong and Salis Abdul Samed, who recently completed a move to OGC Nice.
Peprah started in a three-back system for Nice while, Salis Samed made substitute appearances as they succumbed to a 1-0 defeat on home turf to Toulouse.
The fast-rising defender, who played for 90 minutes in the match impressed Otto Addo with a solid defensive display as well as Salis Samed, was a regular for the Black Stars until injuries hampered his progress.
The pair are in line for call-ups for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Chad and Mali in September following an outstanding display last Saturday.
Before his visit to Nice, the Ghana coach was also in Monaco where he met with Mohammed Salisu in a private discussion as his Ligue 1 future remains undecided.
The trip to southern France was part of Otto Addo’s European tour to watch Black Stars playing in Belgium, Denmark and Spain.
Otto Addo will announce his squad for the games in the coming days as the Black Stars up for the crucial games next month.
Ghana are comfortably at the top of Group I in the African qualifiers for the World Cup and Otto Addo is focused on securing back-to-back qualification for the World Cup with the Black Stars.
