German Bundesliga side Union Berlin have reportedly reached an agreement with Galatasaray to sign Ghanaian defender Derrick Köhn.
The defender is currently on the books of Turkish Super Lig champions Galatasaray. Last season, he was loaned to German Bundesliga side Werder Bremen for the 2024/25 football season.
While on loan, Derrick Köhn made 27 appearances and managed to score two goals.
Although the defender returned to Galatasaray determined to fight for a place in the team, it has become increasingly clear that a move to another club is necessary to ensure regular playing time.
Early this month, Derrick Köhn was linked with a move to several clubs, but it was Werder Bremen who tried to secure the services of the player permanently.
According to sources, the club could not reach an agreement with Galatasaray and are set to miss out on signing Derrick Köhn.
In the last 48 hours, Union Berlin are said to have reached an agreement with the Turkish Super Lig giants and are set to complete a deal to bring him to Germany.
The deal is believed to be worth â¬5 million and will include a sell-on clause that will ensure Galatasaray receive a percentage of any future sale.
