Asante Kotoko could face Moroccan giants Wydad Casablanca in the second preliminary round of the 2025/26 CAF Confederation Cup, should they progress past Nigeria’s Kwara United in their opening tie.
The Ghanaian FA Cup winners begin their campaign with a home fixture in Kumasi between September 19 and 21, before travelling to Nigeria for the return leg scheduled from September 26 to 28.
If the Porcupines advance, they will set up a clash with Wydad Casablanca, one of Africa’s most successful clubs and a multiple-time CAF Champions League winner.
The Moroccans will enter the competition at this stage, making the potential matchup a major early test for the Kumasi-based side.
The second preliminary round’s first leg is slated for October 17â19, with the decisive return fixture to be played between October 24 and 26.
The aggregate winner will progress to the group stage of Africa’s second-tier club competition, bringing them closer to continental silverware and valuable prize money.
This marks Kotoko’s first appearance in the Confederation Cup since 2022.
