
Ghana Premier League side Medeama Sporting Club have joined the rest of the country to mourn the eight people who died during the tragic helicopter crash on Wednesday.
In a post on social media mourning the key national figures who died in the crash, the club prayed for a peaceful rest for the souls of the departed.
“Medeama SC mourns the tragic loss of key national figures in yesterday’s military helicopter crash, including two Cabinet Ministers, senior officials, and brave Air Force personnel.
“Our hearts go out to their families. May their souls rest in peace,” Medeama SC said in a post on X.

The Ghana Armed Forces on Wednesday evening confirmed that its helicopter Z9, which took off in the morning from Accra en route to Obuasi, had crashed in the general area of Sikaman near Adansi Akrofuom in the Ashanti Region, and all onboard are confirmed dead.
The crew on board who died include Squadron Leader Peter Bafemi Anala, Flying Officer Manaen Twum Ampadu and Sergeant Ernest Addo Mensah
The passengers were Dr Edward Omane Boamah - Minister for Defence, Alhaji Dr Ibrahim Murtala Mohammed - Minister for Environment, Science and Technology, Alhaji Muniru Mohammed - Acting Deputy National Security Coordinator, Dr Samuel Sarpong - Vice Chairman, NDC and Mr. Samuel Aboagye - Former Parliamentary candidate.
The state led by President John Dramani Mahama commenced a three-day mourning on Thursday, with burial arrangements already underway.
