GHPL WRAP: Kotoko lose in Tarkwa and red hot WAFA jump to summit of the league table…

WAFA moved first on the league table after recording their 4th win on a row. The Soccer Academicians won against Ashanti Gold by three goals to nil. Prince Obeng Apem, Daniel Lomotey and Gideon Waja got the three goals for the new league leaders

Asante Kotoko lost to Medeama SC at the T&A Park for the first time in the club's history.

Ahmed Adams gave Asante Kotoko the lead in 30th minute but two late penalties awarded to Medeama afforded them chance to overturn the scores. Paul Aidoo converted both spot kicks. Asante though 2^nd on the log have not won in 3 consecutive games, picking only 1 point from a possible 9.

At the Dansoman Carl Reindolf Park, an added time goal by Nathaniel Asamoah rescued a point for Aduana Stars having gone down to a Samuel Sarfo goal in the first half. The Aduana club is now tied on points with Asante Kotoko on the 2^nd spot on the league

Hearts Of Oaks almost threw up a 3-0 first half to Bechem United. Winful Cobbinna in his first start of the season assisted all three of Hearts of Oaks' first half goals scored by Thomas Abbey, Richard Akrofi and Fataw Mohammed.

Bechem United mounted a near comeback in the 2nd half with goals from Nana Antwi Many and Abdul Bashiru. The Bechem side had over 30 minutes to complete the comeback but they couldn't take the chances that came their way only for Cosmos Dauda to seal victory for Hearts with 6 minutes to full time.

Tema Youth were able to hold Ebusua Dwarfs to a one all draw at the Cape Coast Stadium. Kporvi Michael  scored the first of the game for the Tema club only for Nicholas Gyan to level scores for the home club.

Inter Allies continued with their poor to season picking only one point at home to Berekum Chelsea. They had to come from behind to draw with the Berekum blues. Stephen Sarfo scored for the away side, Isaac Osae got the equaliser for Inter Allies.

A 2nd half goal from Emmanuel Anaba settled the game between two debutants Bolga Allstars and Elmina Sharks in the home side's favour.

Wa Allstars versus Great Olympics will be played at a later date.
