Black Stars players celebrate scoring against Mali
GHANA’S BLACK Stars are edging closer to a place at the 2026 FIFA World Cup after maintaining their impressive form in the qualifiers.
The team currently sits at the summit of Group I with 19 points from eight matches, having recorded six victories, one draw and just a single defeat.
Their latest triumph came in a tense encounter against Mali, where defender Alexander Djiku delivered the decisive moment with a clinical strike in the 49th minute.
The narrow 1-0 win not only strengthened Ghana’s position in the group but also lifted the confidence of Otto Addo’s men as they push for a ticket to the global showpiece.
Attention now turns to the next two fixtures, which could prove pivotal in shaping Ghana’s qualification campaign.
The Black Stars will travel to Bangui on October 6 to face the Central African Republic before returning home to Accra four days later to host Comoros. Victories in both matches would place Ghana firmly in control of their qualification destiny.
Under Otto Addo’s guidance, the Black Stars have displayed a blend of resilience and attacking flair.
Standout performers such as Jordan Ayew, Mohammed Kudus, Antoine Semenyo, Thomas Partey and match-winner Djiku have played key roles in the team’s progress, offering fans renewed belief in Ghana’s chances of making a strong return to the World Cup stage.
With momentum on their side, the Black Stars know that consistency will be the defining factor as they enter the final stretch of the qualifiers.
Each game carries added weight, and Ghana’s passionate supporters will be hoping the team can maintain their edge to secure a place at football’s biggest event in 2026.
