Nigerian singer and Marlian Music boss, Naira Marley, faced a tense moment during his recent concert in Cotonou when a fan stormed the stage in an apparent attempt to attack him.
In a viral video circulating online, the singer was seen thrilling the crowd when a man suddenly charged towards him mid-performance. Swift action by security operatives, including Naira Marley’s close associate Sam Larry, prevented the incident from escalating. The intruder was immediately restrained and escorted off stage, allowing the show to continue without further disruption.
Fans at the venue expressed shock at the unexpected invasion, but many praised the quick response of the security team, which ensured the artist’s safety.
Taking to his X account after the concert, Naira Marley reacted to the incident with humour. Sharing the viral clip, he captioned it: “The moment I got attacked on stage, see baba oniru re.”
