The President of the Ghana Plumbers Association, Joshua Nyamavor, has advised plumbers to commit to quality work that satisfies clients as a means to build sustainable plumbing businesses.
He gave the advice in Takoradi during a Pipe Application Workshop organized by the Ghana Plumbers Association in partnership with DPS Pipes. The workshop, which introduced plumbers to emerging trends in the plumbing industry, offered participants practical training in types of Pipe Supports and Joints, testing of pipe-works, and selection of pipes.
Speaking to Citi News, the President of the Ghana Plumbers Association, Joshua Nyamavor, said such capacity-building workshops are important for plumbers to meet the expectations of their customers. He explained that efficient plumbers enable their clients to save costs with their projects, thereby also growing their business.
“Plumbing does not end with just putting two or more pipes together, but when the client is satisfied because he is not experiencing leakages. That is sustainable business,” he said.
He added that plumbers face problems such as low quality of materials for their work, hence the need for professional manufacturers and suppliers of good plumbing materials.
Mr. Nyamavor, however, said that the Ghana Plumbers Association, on its part, is doing its best to address the issue of low working standards by building the capacity of workers as well as embracing emerging trends.
He added that the Pipe Application Workshop organized in collaboration with DPS Pipes is for members who have been out of school for a while to keep up with the rapidly changing fittings and trends within the plumbing industry, and therefore encouraged plumbers who are still not members of the Association to join in order to benefit from its numerous capacity-building workshops.
Director of DPS Pipes, Puneet Gidwami, in a short presentation at the workshop for over 100 participants, encouraged plumbers to embrace the use of high-quality pipes for their work to be able to please their clients with quality service.
He said DPS Pipes find it essential to help plumbers get the right quality pipes for their work as it is the only way plumbers can guarantee business growth, which by extension also benefits DPS pipes.
Satisfied plumbers who participated in the workshop expressed appreciation to the Ghana Plumbers Association and DPS Pipes for the capacity-building, which they described as refreshing and eye-opening to their work.
