THE sixth conference of the Commonwealth Hansard Editors Association, Africa Region,(CHEA - AR )has successfully taken place in Accra, and the Editor of Debates in the Parliament of Ghana, Alhaji Abu D Issaka has been elected as the President of the Association for the next two years. CHEA was formed in 1984 at Westminster to provide a forum for the exchange ofideas and information among Hansard editors.

The mission met with Vice-President Amissah-Arthur, Finance Minister Terkper, Bank of Ghana Governor Wampah, other senior officials, members of parliament, and representatives of the private sector, think tanks, and civil society.
