The Ghana Education Service (GES) has officially declared Friday, 7th March 2025, a holiday for all schoolchildren across the country.
In a press release issued on 6th March 2025 and signed by Cassandra Twum Ampofo, Head of the Public Relations Unit, GES explained that the decision was made to give students a well-deserved break following their active participation in preparations for the Independence Day celebrations.
According to GES, all schools will resume full academic activities on Monday, 10th March 2025. The service urged parents and guardians to take note of the holiday and make necessary arrangements.
“We regret any inconvenience this may cause,” the statement added.
The announcement comes as part of efforts to acknowledge the dedication of students in commemorating Ghana’s Independence Anniversary, ensuring they have time to rest before returning to their academic commitments.
