General Overseer of the Action Chapel International Ministry, Archbishop Nicholas Duncan-Williams has extoled President Mahama for what he says is the President’s ‘humble’ nature.
The revered man of God who was giving a sermon at the President’s Fellowship with the Clergy on Friday said he’s witnessed instances where the President forgave persons who stepped on his toes.
Archbishop Nicholas Duncan-Williams noted that President Mahama is not a man who easily loses touch with persons just for the sake of wrongdoing.
According to him, President Mahama does not show any sense of vindictiveness.
“Mr. President you are that kind of example because I’ve watched you when you were in power before even in the days when you were in Parliament, I watched your attitude.
“I’ve seen people hurt, offend and betray you over the years. We’ve talked about some of them.
“You don’t discriminate. You have not lost your common touch, whether in opposition or in government, you are not vindictive. Please stay that way, don’t change,” the archbishop stated during his sermon on Friday, February 28, 2025.
The archbishop recounted a moment when the President surprisingly showed love to a person who offended him while he was in opposition.
“Recently, I was with you at a meeting you attended and there was this individual that has so offended and hurt you when you were in opposition and when we were talking, he passed by and you stopped him and hugged him and I said what kind of a man is this?
“And after he said to me do you realise that he spotted me and hugged me? And I said it’s a power of humility,” he added.
Archbishop Duncan-Williams urged Ministers to emulate the President. He cautioned them not to capitalize on their position and authority to take revenge on others.
“And I want to admonish all the Ministers that sit in Council with Mr. President, don’t be vindictive, don’t pay evil for evil, don’t seek to settle scores with anybody and do not use the victory and glory of this President to settle scores with anyone because there are implications for that.
“When you use power entrusted to you for the benefit of the citizens to settle score and to prove a point, there are serious implications for that,” Archbishop Duncan-Williams advised.
