Deputy Minister-designate for Food and Agriculture, John Dumelo has said he is not a member of any of the catholic church’s secret society.
Appearing before the Appointments Committee on February 25 2025, the Deputy Minister nominee stated he’s a staunch member of the Catholic church and a firm believer of the rosary as he carried it along to the vetting.
However, when questioned by the Minority Leader, Afenyo-Markin about whether he’s a member of any of the fraternity or society of the Catholic church, Dumelo vehemently declined being a member.
“I don’t belong to any society in the catholic church,” Dumelo noted.
Although he’s aware of the numerous societies in the Catholic church, the Ayawaso West-Wuogon MP explained that he has no idea about the activities of these societies.
“I am familiar with them but not familiar with their dealings,” Dumelo added.
The Catholic church has a number of societies or organisations that promote Christian values. They include; the Knights and Ladies of Marshall, the Knights and Ladies of St. John, Freemasonry and others.
