
Sekondi-Takoradi was buzzing with energy as Connect 97.1FM successfully hosted its 10.3km health walk, “Connect Sweat,” under the theme “Steps to Wellness.”
The event brought together hundreds of fitness enthusiasts, corporate teams, and individuals, all united in promoting a healthy lifestyle and community engagement.
The walk kicked off early in the morning from the Connect 97.1FM forecourt, where participants warmed up with light exercises before embarking on the mapped-out route. The 10.3km journey took them through key streets in Takoradi, creating a vibrant and dynamic atmosphere.
Speaking after the event, Mr. Joris Dweben, Station Manager of Connect 97.1FM, expressed excitement over the overwhelming turnout and reaffirmed the station’s commitment to promoting wellness through community-driven initiatives.
“We are thrilled by the enthusiasm shown by the people of Takoradi. ‘Connect Sweat’ is more than just a walk; it’s a movement encouraging a culture of fitness and well-being. Small steps like these can lead to a healthier and more productive society,” he said.
To enhance the experience, the event featured hydration stations, lively music, and on-site medical personnel ensuring the safety of all participants. The walk concluded with an aerobics session and health screening, followed by an interactive networking session where attendees shared their experiences.
Many participants praised the initiative, calling for it to become a regular feature on Connect FM’s event calendar.
