The Finance Minister Dr Cassiel Ato Forson has denied claims that he has authorized payment to businessman and former Lawmaker for Assin Central Kennedy Agyapong for a contract he executed for the previous government.
The Finance Minister said that the Mahama administration is currently conducting a comprehensive review of all contracts and payment requests to verify their legitimacy.
In a post on his X page, he said “Friends, Since I took office, no contractor—including Kennedy Agyapong—has been paid a pesewa. We are currently conducting a comprehensive review of all contracts and payment requests to verify their legitimacy.
“Please disregard any claims suggesting that I have authorized payment to Kennedy Ohene Agyapong or any other contractor. Thank You!”
The Finance Minister’s comment comes in the wake of a report that the government is making payment to contractors including Mr Ken Agyapong who is the owner of the construction firm Ken City Company Limited.
