President Mahama has officially launched the National Education Consultative Forum under the theme: “Transforming Education for A Sustainable Future” intended to identify educational challenges in Ghana and provide bold and actionable roadmap for reforms.
Speaking at the launch of the forum in Ho, Volta Region on Tuesday, February 18,2025, John Mahama underscored the need for the establishment of such a forum in today’s challenging educational sector in Ghana.
“The national consultative forum on education is a platform to bring all stakeholders to the table. Government, policy makers, teachers, students, parents, traditional leaders, religious leaders, political party representatives, development partners and all members of civil society,” the President noted.
The President in his speech admitted that educational reforms require a shared responsibility, hence his decision to bring together stakeholders to dialogue on solutions for the educational sector.
The President assured stakeholders at the forum that his government will not abandon recommendations that will made for the sector through consultations.
“Government is fully committed to this process… I assure you that your recommendations are not going to gather dust on the shelves. They will not become symbolic recommendations but they will form the foundation of a comprehensive reform agenda to build an inclusive, equitable and transformative education system for Ghana and for the benefit of all Ghanaians,” the President added.
President Mahama charged the stakeholders in education to come up with bold recommendations that are far-reaching, transformative and necessary for developing a global Ghanaian.
