A Professor at the University of Ghana, Ransford Gyampo has said he has stopped criticising President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo because there is nothing he can do to change the lives of Ghanaians from now to December 7 when the elections are held.
In his view, the Akufo-Addo administration has checked out of office after the two terms in office therefore, he will not spend energy criticising the government again.
Rather, he said, he would channel his energy into assessing the campaigns of the various presidential aspirants.
“I am not criticising the government again, the Akufo-Addo government has checked out, its ministers have chickened out in their minds,” he said on the Key Points on TV3 Saturday, November 16
“I can’t continue to criticise a government that has checked out. If you are expecting Akufo-Addo to do anything then you don’t know what is happening so I will focus more on the campaign of Dr Bawumia, Mahama, Alan Kyerematen and the rest. I am not expecting Akufo-Addo to do anything meaningful from Now to December 7.”
He further criticised President Akufo-Addo for squandering the goodwill he enjoyed.
Also commenting on the same show, Member of Parliament for Old Tafo Vincent Assafuah said that President Akufo-Addo has been one of the best presidents in Ghana.
“President Akufo-Addo has proven to be one of the presidents in Ghana, we have DRIP machines helping the various districts, this is a president who has made sure that from First December we are going to have Kidney dialysis for free,” he said.
