Ghana’s Alexander Adjei has claimed the Golden Boot at the 2024 Beach Soccer Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament, netting 11 goals in just four matches.
Though Ghana’s Black Sharks had a challenging campaign, Adjei’s impressive form lit up the tournament, drawing cheers from fans.
The Ghanaian forward’s talent for finding the back of the net is undeniable. He holds the record for the most goals scored in a single AFCON edition, with 17 goals in 2015. His latest performance in Egypt reaffirms his remarkable goal-scoring prowess.
In Ghana’s opener against hosts Egypt, Adjei scored a hat-trick, and despite Ghana’s loss, he continued to shine with back-to-back hat-tricks against Mozambique and Tanzania.
He delivered a four-goal performance in the Tanzania game and scored once more in Ghana’s group-stage match against Morocco.
Beyond his scoring feats, Adjei also contributed three assists, showcasing his all-around impact on the pitch.
His efforts propelled the Black Sharks to their best-ever AFCON finish, securing 5th place and solidifying his status as a standout in African beach soccer.
