Highlife musician, Kofi Kinaata, has paid his last respects to Gospel star Kofi Owusu Dua-Anto (KODA).
In a Facebook post on Saturday, Kinaata shared photos of himself at the burial service which was held on Friday, September 20, 2024.
“Yesterday, I joined loved ones at the burial service of our dear KODA at the KICC Dominion Center in Accra. We wore white to celebrate his glorious entry into the presence of his Maker. You will be dearly missed. Rest in Peace, KODA [fist, chill emojis] #TeamMooove,” Kofi Kinaata wrote.
He included photos of the hearse carrying KODA’s remains which displayed his name on its number plate, while the phrase ‘Yesu Edi Nkunim’ was inscribed on the front and back.
These words echo lyrics from KODA’s megahit ‘Hosanna’ signifying the Christian belief of God’s victory.
Both Kinaata and KODA hail from Takoradi in the Western Region.
KODA was a multi-instrumentalist, singer-songwriter, record producer, and sound engineer. He was a legend of contemporary Gospel music in Ghana, mentoring many stars in the genre and producing multiple hit records.
KODA passed away on April 21, 2024 at the age of 45.
