Black Stars have extended their community outreach by visiting and donating to the Dzorwulu Special School in Accra ahead of their upcoming Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Angola.
The visit, led by team captain Jordan Ayew and joined by players including Kingsley Schindler, Lawrence Ati-Zigi, Abdul Fatawu Issahaku, Gideon Mensah, Ransford Yeboah Koningsdorffer, and Razak Simpson, allowed the players to interact with students and staff and offer support.
During their visit, the Black Stars donated essential items such as food, bottled water, and an undisclosed amount of money, bringing smiles to the students.
Captain Ayew emphasized the team’s commitment to social responsibility, telling ghanafa.org, “On behalf of the Ghana Football Association, the Black Stars Technical team, and my colleagues, we came here to spend time with you and to offer our little support to you as part of our contribution to your growth.”
Ayew also urged the students to keep the team in their prayers, adding, “We seek your prayers and support going into our crucial game against Angola on Friday.”
Following this outreach, the team departed for Luanda, arriving Wednesday night in preparation for the crucial qualifier. Ghana, currently third in Group F with two points, is seeking to secure a spot in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations tournament. Angola, who are undefeated in the qualifiers and lead the group with 12 points, will be a formidable opponent.
The Black Stars will hold their official training session at Estádio 11 de Novembro on Thursday night, ahead of Friday’s match scheduled for 7 p.m. local time.
