Election 2024: Joe Ghartey predicts win with 10k votes margin in Essikado Ketan Constituency

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has expressed confidence in securing victory in the upcoming parliamentary election in the Essikado-Ketan Constituency.

Member of Parliament for the area, Joe Ghartey told party faithful at a campaign launch that the NPP would win by over 10,000 votes with their new candidate, Charles Onuawonto Bissue.

According to him, this can be accomplished with hard work toward an overwhelming triumph on December 7.

“The moment has come for the party to send a message to its opponents that the Essikado-Ketan Constituency would remain secure for the NPP. We will win this election. I see a gap of ten thousand and over,” Mr. Ghartey said.

However, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, Member of Parliament for Assin Central, warned against complacency and urged supporters to work towards a landslide win.

“This election requires everyone’s participation. If each of you convince ten voters, imagine what we could accomplish,” Mr. Agyapong said.

The parliamentary candidate, Charles Onuawonto Bissue, pledged to work with all party members to retain the seat for the NPP.

“I will engage with every polling station to ensure our combined effort secures victory,” Mr. Bissue said.

The Esikadu Ketan Constituency has been a safe seat for the New Patriotic Party Since 2005, However the introduction of the National Democratic Congress candidate Grace Ayensu Danquah has intensified the political atmosphere in the constituency.

In the 2020 parliamentary elections for the Essikado-Ketan constituency, Joe Ghartey of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) emerged victorious over Dr. Grace Ayensu-Danquah of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

Joe Ghartey received 26,701 votes, while Ayensu-Danquah obtained 24,527 votes, resulting in a narrow margin of 2,174 votes in favor of Joe Ghartey.

As we head to the 2024 election Joe Ghartey has handed the barton to Charles Bissue as he comes up against the National Democratic Congress candidate Grace Ayensu Danquah and battle lines have been clearly drawn.
