Dutch club Ajax have reached a verbal agreement with Southampton for the services of Ghanaian winger Kamaldeen Sulemana.
The initial agreement is expected to be a loan move with an option to buy for the Dutch club, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano,
However, the move for the 22-year-old is far from completion as it is heavily hinged on Dutch forward Steve Bergwijn securing a move away from the club, with Saudi club Al-Ittihad showing interest.
Although Southampton and Ajax have reached a verbal agreement, Bergwijn’s departure will free up space in Ajax’s team to accommodate the Ghanaian.
Personal terms between Sulemana and Ajax are being negotiated, as the Ghanaian works his way from injury.
Sulemana is yet to feature for Southampton since the Saints made their way back to the English top flight from the championship, and his move to Ajax could see him become the 8th Ghanaian to feature for the club – and the first since Mohammed Kudus in the 2022-23 season.
