Nsoatreman FC’s head coach, Yaw Preko, says his team will stay positive despite defeating TP Elect Sports of Chad 3–0 in their first Confederation Cup preliminary round match.
In their CAF Confederation Cup debut, Nsoatreman FC defeated Chad’s Elect Sports 3-0 at Accra Sports Stadium. They have a comfortable lead going into the second leg, which will be played in Cameroon between August 24 to 26, thanks to goals from Abdul Rahman (brace) and Kwabena Adu Meider’s goals.
Head Coach Yaw Preko reacted in a post-match shedding light on how his side succeeded in outsmarting the Chadian side.
“Our wingers were very quick, so we used that strategy, started making simple passes, and gradually warmed up the field because our opponents were playing a high line. We went for the long balls after I told my boys to make one-on-two passes when they came high. It worked and we scored a goal as a result.”
The former Ghana international also stated that they are still in the development stage, urging fans to keep an eye out for more.
“We’re still growing as a team. Despite only three weeks with the team, they are already playing the way I want them to, and more is on the way.
Coach Yaw Preko also stated that the second leg, which will be played on neutral ground, will give them an advantage and allow them to win there as well.
“Our strategy is not to give up in Cameroon on the return leg. All we need to do is stay focused. The fact that the game will take place on neutral grounds gives us an advantage over them. Let us hope we win that game without conceding any goals.”
If Nsoatreman avoid losing 4-0 to Elect Sports in the second league, they will advance to the second preliminary round and most likely play the winner of Police FC of Rwanda and CS Constantine of Algeria.
