Nsoatreman FC coach Yaw Preko has assured that his team is fully prepared for their upcoming CAF Confederations Cup match against Elite Clubs from Chad, scheduled for Sunday.
The game will be held at the Accra Sports Stadium, with the second leg taking place in Cameroon.
Preko, who had previously been quoted after the Nsenkyire Cup expressing concerns about his team’s readiness for interclub competition, clarified in an interview with Akoma FM that these comments were misinterpreted.
He emphasised that his statements about avoiding complacency were misunderstood, and he is confident in his team’s preparation for the crucial fixture.
“I wanted my boys to wake up so they would feel as though our coach is pushing us. I put my players to the test with the Nsenkyire Cup.”
Nonetheless, the coach feels that the team is now prepared after one week of practice following the Nsenkyire Cup.
“After the Nsenkyire Cup, we’ve trained for a week, and I can see that, the players are also getting along well. I have a team, too, and I know exactly how I we will go by it on Sunday. We are ready for Sunday’s Confederations Cup match.”
On emulating what Dreams FC and Medeama did, Yaw Preko says they would take it game after the other.
“I promise not to put pressure on the boys, we are going to take it game after game.”
Nsoatreman will then travel to Cameroon for the return leg, which takes place between September 20 and 22.
If Nsoatreman FC defeat Elect Sport of Chad and advances to the next round, they will face either Police FC of Rwanda or CS Constantine of Algeria.
