Black Stars coach Otto Addo has pledged Ghanaians an exciting brand of football in his second tenure.
Otto Addo’s return was confirmed following Ghana’s disappointing performance in the Ivory Coast, where the Black Stars suffered an unexpected group stage exit.
The Ghana FA terminated Chris Hughton’s contract and reinstated Otto Addo on a 34-month deal, with an option for an additional 24 months.
Speaking at his inaugural press conference since his reappointment, Otto Addo expressed his delight at returning, admitting the challenges faced.

“I’m really excited and happy to be back. It was not easy but the GFA had good talks with Dortmund. I’m excited and looking forward to the next match,” he said.
During his initial tenure, Ghana secured qualification for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, with a record of four wins, four draws, and four defeats.
Otto Addo, who recently resigned from his role as Dortmund’s talent coach, has already overseen his first matches in his second spell, with Ghana losing 2-0 and drawing 2-2 with Uganda during the March international break.
Despite the team’s unconvincing performances, Otto Addo emphasised his commitment to attractive football: “I can’t promise victories but I can promise you that we will play good football. I want to bring back joy in watching us play. My players will not be afraid of the ball.”
