Nations FC coach Kassim Mingle Ocansey has reiterated that his side is not waving the white flag in the chase for the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League title.
With eight matches remaining in the season, Samartex lead the table with 49 points, holding a 5-point advantage over second-placed Nations FC who have accumulated 44 points.
Nations’ failure to win their last two matches has allowed Samartex to stretch their lead at the top. The Accra-based club suffered a 1-0 loss to Real Tamale United before being held to a 2-2 draw by Bofoakwa Tano.
However, Ocansey remains defiant, telling 3Sports: “Twenty-four points left and you think they have won the league? No, there are eight matches left with 24 points to be picked so you make sure you win most of the matches. It is not yet over until it is over. We will fight to the end.”
This weekend could prove pivotal in shaping the Premier League title hopes. Nations FC will travel to Kpando, where they will hope to secure maximum points. Simultaneously, league leaders Samartex face a difficult test in Kumasi against giants Asante Kotoko.
With the season entering its crucial final stages, the race for the Premier League crown is heating up, and Kassim Mingle Ocansey’s Nations FC are determined to fight until the very end.
