One time musician now a political activist, Kwame Asare Obeng, better known by his stage name A Plus, has strongly criticised President Akufo-Addo’s government for the recent power outages experienced across the country.
A Plus shared a 2012 tweet on his Facebook page in which Akufo-Addo, the opposition leader at the time, criticized the ruling administration for power disruptions.
He reminded President Akufo-Addo of his previous position on frequent power outages and contrasted it with the problems the country is currently suffering.

He stressed in his Facebook post that the president has not lived up to the expectations placed on him as a leader, especially when it comes to resolving the nation’s ongoing power shortages.
“Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo you shared this in 2012. Look at what is happening now and give it a name. You have disappointed even your enemies; your main opponents who said you would fail as president didn’t know you’d be this worse,” A Plus wrote.
Popular actress Yvonne Nelson has also chided government for the recent intermittent power outages across the country.
The actress in a tweet on X called on President Akufo-Addo’s government to find a lasting solution to the power outages experienced in the country.
“Mr President, DUM SOR is DUM SOR whether it’s for an hour, 12 hours, 24hrs or every day. FIX IT!” she tweeted on March, 12.
Several parts of the country have experienced total darkness intermittently in recent times.
The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) in a social media post revealed that 630 distribution transformers in communities across its operational zones are currently above capacity due to increased power consumption.
The ECG said this was one of the reasons for the intermittent power supply and cautioned Ghanaians to brace themselves for more power outages during peak demand hours between 7 p.m. and 11 p.m.
