Asante Kotoko coach Karim Zito says striker Albert Amoah is not guaranteed a starting berth at the club.
The 25-year-old striker, after joining Libyan side Al Ahly Benghazi, has returned to the Ghana Premier League side on a loan deal which runs until the end of the season.
However, Amoah was on the scoresheet as Kotoko recorded a 3-0 win against Basake Holy Stars over the weekend at the Baba Yara Stadium.
Despite his impressive performance, Zito insists the former Great Olympics striker would not be guaranteed an automatic starting place.
He cautioned that every player must fight to earn his place in the team.
“I cannot say he [Albert Amoah] will get an automatic place. Training will decide everything. That is why we train," he said.
"I don’t have a say nowâwhat happens on the training ground will show us what to do. It’s about understanding and combinations. The players you pair who give you results are the best," Zito added.
Albert Amoah will hope to continue his goalscoring momentum when Kotoko travel to play Heart of Lions in the Matchday 21 games at the Kpando Sports Stadium.
