Bechem United goalkeeper Benjamin Asiedu has expressed his disappointment after missing out on the Man of the Match (MoTM) award in the team’s goalless draw against Medeama SC in the Ghana Premier League.
The shot-stopper was in post for the Hunters on Saturday afternoon and put up an outstanding display that ensured his team secured a crucial point from the Week 11 fixture away from home.
Despite standing out with his top saves, the Man of the Match award went to Medeama SC midfielder Salim Adams.
In his post-match interview, Benjamin Asiedu admitted that getting snubbed for the award was disappointing, but stressed that he is proud of his performance.
“I think we knew this game would be very difficult, so we knew we had to put up a good performance. We were determined to secure either a point or all three points.
"I’m disappointed [I didn’t win the Man of the Match] but I respect the decision,” Asiedu said.
The Bechem United goalkeeper continued, “Although I didn’t win the Man of the Match, I’m not disappointed with my performance. I’m proud of myself. I will keep my head down and continue working hard in the upcoming games.”
