Asante Kotoko coach Karim Zito says ten players will miss the club’s outstanding Ghana Premier League match against Young Apostles on Wednesday afternoon.
He confirmed the situation in an interview with the club, describing the challenge as one of the toughest moments in his short tenure.
Zito admitted the injury crisis is deepening, with no immediate sign of relief.
He explained that the number of absentees has grown rather than reduced.
The coach listed a long group of unavailable names and included a reminder that some absences are due to national team call-ups.
“Quartey, Saibu, Mintah, Walid, Antwi, Seth, Saaka, Ansu, and Camara who has gone for national duty [with Guinea],” he said, noting that even fringe options are not fully fit.
Zito revealed further concerns. “Even the small boy Amissah is also groin issues,” he said.
He stressed that the technical team will work with what is left. “So at the end of the day the rest we have to manage and use the rest to achieve the objective,” he said.
Kotoko are sixth in the league and sit five points behind joint leaders Medeama and Heart of Lions as they look to keep pace despite growing setbacks.
